  • The Medical University of Łodz (MUŁ) is the largest state University in Poland

    • educating over 9500 students with a teaching staff of 1600 under several faculties: Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and other medical disciplines

  • MUŁ opened on the 1st October 2002, after the Medical Academy of Łodz and the Military Medical Academy of Łodz joined hands

  • The English division was established in 2003/04

    • CBS exam are available​

      • A comprehensive board exam, taken prior to the STEP 1 USMLE exam, to identify if the student is ready or not​

Information

  • Regarding admission/registration process, contact:

  • Response time: It can take anywhere from a few days to 3 weeks to get a response, during the application process. TIP- Applying earlier the better

  • Early bird discount: If an applicant applies and get accepted before the 15th June, a 10% discount is given for the first years tuition.

Who is Qualified?

Candidates that hold the following:

  • High school leaving certificate or leaving diploma:

    • an official document which states, the candidate's eligibility to apply to all types of higher education institutes (Universities).​

  • High school certificates presenting with 'above average' grade for 2 of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Maths or Physics

  • Document confirming English language fluency:

    • This document is ONLY required if your High-school was conducted in a different language of instruction other than English​

  1. Register and make an account on MUŁ’s Online application system ​​

    1. TIP: Use an email address you use regularly, as you will receive all sorts of links and updates on your application

    2. If there is any issue in creating an account, contact Admissions office by admission@umed.lodz.pl 

  2. Follow the instructions and submit the application form via the Online application system

    1. Involves attaching scanned documents to the application

  3. Once the application is submitted, you will be notified through the University's online account or your email address, regarding the status of the application (make sure you are always checking)

  4. Once MUŁ's admission committee successfully verifies your documents, under 'personal panel', on MUŁ's online system, your status will change to 'eligible for entrance exam' and you will see the 'entrance exam ' button

    1. after clicking the 'entrance exam' button, you can choose the convenient date and time​

  5. Pay the application fee of 120 EUR

  6. On completion of the entrance exam, follow these steps 

  7. The receival of the 'Letter of Acceptance' is the confirmation that you have been officially accepted into MUŁ. CONGRATULATIONS! 

How to apply?

How are Applicants assessed?

Candidates are admitted based on their high school grades and that candidate's performance during the interview

Entrance Examination

  • There is NO Written Entrance Exam 

  • There is ONLY an Interview/Oral exam

 

Documents

required

  • Completed online application form, printed and signed 

  • High school leaving certificate or diploma:

    • an official document which states that the candidate is eligible to apply to all types of higher education institutes (Universities), including the grades of the final year subjects e.g. Biology, Chemistry, etc

    • this certificate should be validated (legalised) or affixed with an apostle ​

  • Certificate documenting English language fluency for non-native speakers

  • Passport photocopy 

  • 2 recent passport photos

  • Hepatitis B report

  • Obligatory medical exam

Application/ Registration fee

120 EUR

  • Non-refundable

  • Must be payed before attending the Interview

Dates

Application has to be completed within these dates (for 2023/2024 enrolment):

  • Opening and closing dates: 15th February - 15th July 2023

Transfers

Preparatory Course

  • 1 Year (Nov - June) optional course for candidates who wish to brush up their pre-medical knowledge

    • Is usually taken up by students who failed the first time round at their entrance exam​

    • Not recommended for high school students, as it's just a repeat of the same subject

  • Cost: 5900 EUR (whole course)

Jakdojade is a public transport app that everyone uses to travel via public transport in Poland. You put in your current location and your destination and it will show you what buses/trams to take. This app can be used in all Polish cities, as there is a feature where you can change the city you are in.

  • Students have to cook or order food

  • Cooking your own food is much more cost effective than eating outside in restaurants. (Learning some basic cooking skills will be very useful)

  • Weekly grocery shopping costs varies for each individual depending on their diet, preferences and choice of grocery shop

  • *The first 1-2 weeks of living, your shopping costs will most likely be the highest, as you would be buying the basic things like, washing powder, sponges, frozen food, canned foods and etc
